Our Impact

Community Engagement

In addition to our building and remodeling projects, HomeAid reaches out to meet the immediate needs of Sacramento families and individuals experiencing homeless and the organizations that assist them. Every year we complete several HomeAid Care Days, HomeAid CareKits, and the HomeAid Essentials Drive.

HomeAid Essentials

Did you know that women with children is one of the fastest growing segments of the homeless population? For many families already struggling to make ends meet, necessities like diapers and formula can be simply unaffordable.

The ‘Essentials for Young Lives’ Campaign  is HomeAid’s community-wide drive to collect “essentials” such as diapers, baby wipes, and formula for babies in need, ages 0-3 years old.

HomeAid CareKits

The HomeAid ‘CareKit’ is a community outreach initiative that brings together donors and volunteers to create and distribute ‘CareKits’ to homeless individuals and families.

The ‘CareKits’ are filled with essential hygiene products, socks, and 2-1-1 resource cards that connect individuals to available services throughout the county.

 HomeAid Care Days

HomeAid Care Days provide the perfect opportunity to get involved with a hands-on project by making a one day commitment that will have a lasting impact on local nonprofit organizations serving homeless families and individuals. Through HomeAid CARE Days, housing facilities throughout Sacramento receive a "facelift" with cosmetic upgrades and minor repairs performed by volunteers. This is a great way for both individuals and businesses to get involved with HomeAid.
