Sacramento Senior Safe House - Completion Date: July 23, 2009

Lennar was builder captain on this unique project, the first of its kind in this region. Volunteers of America will operate this 6-bed home, which will be a safe haven for abused seniors in the Sacramento area. This home was built in part with a generous donation from the Lennar Charitable Housing Foundation.

Peace for Families - Completion Date: September 25, 2008

Sharing the responsibilities of builder captain, John Laing Homes, and Pulte Homes with construction manager McCarthy Building Companies HomeAid built this 39-bed, 12,500 square foot facility. PEACE for Families provides emergency and transitional shelter for women and children who are victims of domestic violence.

The Sacramento Children’s Home – Completion Date: November 13, 2007
Sacramento Children’s Home was founding in 1867 to care for homeless children. HomeAid with builder captains K. Hovnanian Homes and Tim Lewis Communities built a new 12-bed 3500 square foot residential cottage. Sacramento Children's Home

The Winter Shelter at Cal Expo – shower addition November 9, 2007
Standard Pacific Homes volunteered once again to provide showers at the emergency shelter and completed the remodel in time for the winter opening.

In less than three months, a 13,000 square foot empty building was transformed into a 154-bed shelter to serve homeless men, women and children during the winter months. Builder Captain Standard Pacific Homes.

The Ron and Darin Mittlestaedt Cottage at River Oak Center for Children – June 12, 2007
Second project with builder captain Lennar. The outcome was a fully furnished, twenty-bed dormitory. Projects Completed

The Jon S. Oberg Building at the Sacramento Veterans Resource Center Completion date: November 2005
HomeAid built an 8,300 square foot facility to add 19 beds and administrative space. Renaissance Homes was the builder captain. Projects Completed

Moral Values Cottage – October 2005
The BIA’s BUILD program was the builder captain on this 2-story 2,000 square foot home and recreation room for the care providers.

New Life Training Center - Sacramento Valley Teen Challenge – May 2005
Monarch Homes was the builder captain to build at stairwell and ADA ramp to complete the remodel of the center and obtain occupancy.

Kevin and Trevor Ivey Cottage at River Oak Center for Children - dedication date April 24, 2003
A twenty-bed dormitory, complete with furnishings was built to increase their capacity to serve emotionally disturbed children. This was the first new construction for River Oak Center for Children. US Home was the builder captain.

Diogenes Youth Services –Completion date: February 2002
Remodeled a duplex including converting the garage into living space, extending the kitchen and roof replacement for DYS, to serve six homeless teens, including babies. Elliott Homes was the builder captain.

Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento – Completion date: October 2001
Constructed a fourth dormitory to add twenty beds to house children who are escaping domestic violence or children who have been abandoned. Dunmore Homes and Beazer Homes were co-builder captains.

Bathroom Remodel: G Street Group Home, Sacramento Children's Home – Completion date: December 1999

Extensive remodel of second floor bathroom of large old Victorian house into two separate full bathrooms (men's & women's), enabling facility to increase its bed capacity. Von-Jac Developments was the builder captain.

Acorns Residence: for the Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento – Completion date: January 2000

Involved the construction of a new, detached residence building housing ten children under five years of age. This increased the bed capacity at the Receiving Home from 60 to 70. Beazer Homes was the builder captain.

Computer Lab: Alpha Henson Women's Center, Lincoln – Completion date: October 1999

Residential rehabilitation program for women recovering from addictions. Operated by Sacramento Valley Teen Challenge. Construction of a computer lab serving twenty persons, allows the program to grow from the current capacity of twelve to twenty residents. Del Webb California Corp. was the builder captain.

Diagnostic & Evaluation Unit: for the River Oak Center for Children – Completion date: August 1998

Consisted in the remodeling of a 2,000 square foot section of the existing center into a self-contained unit housing six of the most severely abused children. The builder captain for this effort was US Home.

Pathways to Independence: for Diogenes Youth Services – Completion date: August 1997

Involved the extensive rehabilitation of a duplex into a residence for twelve persons. It is the first long-term shelter of its kind in Sacramento County. The builder captain for this effort was Lewis Homes.
