Mission and History
HomeAid Sacramento's mission is to build new lives for homeless families
and individuals through housing and community outreach.
HomeAid is a non-profit organization that builds and maintains dignified housing where homeless families and individuals can rebuild their lives. Founded in 1989 in Southern California by an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders, HomeAid works closely with NAHB affiliates and their related organizations, through 15 active chapters in the nation. The HomeAid Shelter Development Program consists of homebuilders, their trades, and their suppliers constructing, on behalf of service providers with proven track records, multi-unit shelters where the homeless can learn the job and life skills necessary to return them to the mainstream. HomeAid’s shelters serve abused children, victims of domestic violence, homeless veterans, at-risk teens, people living with HIV/AIDS, the temporarily unemployed, and victims of natural disasters and other catastrophes.
