History

The North State Building Industry Association founded HomeAid Sacramento in 1996. HomeAid Sacramento is one of fifteen chapters of HomeAid America a leading national non-profit provider of housing for today’s homeless. Founded in 1989 by the Building Industry Association of Southern California, an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the organization has built housing for more than 100,000 men, women and children. Through the generosity of builders, their trades and their suppliers, HomeAid has completed more than 192 multi-unit shelter projects nationwide donating more than $75 million towards construction, and over 100,000 homeless have been housed, and more than 35 projects currently in development. HomeAid includes a network of 21 chapters in 15 states and two offices in Newport Beach, CA (headquarters) and Augusta, GA.

As the philanthropic arm of the North State Building Industry Association (BIA), HomeAid is the “charity of choice” for the local builders.

HomeAid's Mission is to build and maintain dignified housing where homeless families and individuals can rebuild their lives.
